Dear Praying Friends,
The sweet psalmist sang, “I will praise thee, O LORD, with my whole heart; I will shew forth all thy marvelous works.” Today, I can say that He has marvelously provided for us over the last several months. He quickly provided all $507 for the family passports, and we expect them to come in soon. Also, when we last wrote, our support level was at 28%, but as of this letter, God has raised our support to 46%. Praise His Holy Name! How thankful I am that He would do such a thing for us. Additionally, there have been other churches that have expressed either their desire to support our ministry financially or a commitment to prayerfully consider supporting the ministry. Please continue to pray that we would hear from these as well as other churches soon and 100% of our goal would be met over the next 6-8 months. That would put us on the field in January of 2008 - some fifteen months from the date we began making preparation. In the New Testament, Luke records Jesus saying, “The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.” Amen.
During March and April we have been in AR, TN, AL, and GA. While in Alabama on a Sunday evening, the Lord opened the door for us to present our ministry and preach His Word. At the close of the message, many responded by pouring their hearts out at the altar. Three young people remained there in the altar for some time. Before leaving that evening, two of those young people had surrendered their lives to serve the Lord in the area of missions, and the third, not having specific direction stated that he knew the Lord wanted more than he (this young man) had given. Please pray for these teenagers, that God would get glory from their lives as they seek to remain in His will.
Lately we have been in some wonderful churches that have a very evident burden for worldwide missions, that is for the millions who are perishing without the gospel. One of those pastors graciously gave me a copy of Oswald J. Smith's book, The Challenge of Missions. It is the best book I have ever read on missions, without exception. I would highly recommend this book to every born again believer who takes seriously our Lord's command to go, “into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.” In his book, Bro. Smith deals with missions from several different practical perspectives. There is wisdom for the pastor, missionary, and faithful church member. If you can't find this book, let me know. I'll be happy to assist you in getting one.
Please remember to pray for the daily needs of our family. With much traveling and a schedule that often changes daily, the children have been sick more than usual. The last six months have been a whirlwind. We long for the day of being settled in our new home so we can face the exciting task of getting acclimated to the Portuguese culture and pointing people to the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world! As always, if you have internet access, take a look at our website - www.mbcportugalmissions.com. It is updated periodically with our goings-on.
Yours for Portugal,
The Andrzejewski Family
